The Youth Development Strategy
Boys & Girls Club programs promote the development of young people by instilling a sense of competence, a sense of usefulness, a sense of belonging and a sense of power or influence. When this strategy is fully implemented, self-esteem is enhanced and an environment is created
which helps boys and girls achieve their full potential.
We are currently looking for Volunteers as Tutors, Program Aides, Craftspeople, Coaches and people with special talents to share are needed.
Character & Leadership Development
Programs in the Core Program Area empower youth to support and influence their Club and community, sustain meaningful relationships with others, develop a positive self image, participate in the democratic process and respect their own and others' cultural identities.
Education & Career Development
Programs in this Core Program Area enable youth to become proficient in basic educational disciplines, apply learning to everyday situations and embrace technology to achieve success in a career.
Health & Life Skills
Programs in this area develop young people's capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, help them set personal goals and live successfully as self-sufficient adults.
Sports, Fitness & Recreation
Programs in this area develop fitness, positive use of leisure time, appreciation for the environment, skills for stress management and social skills.
The Arts
Programs in this area enable youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts, crafts, performing arts and creative writing.
